It might be worth opening an RFE (request for enhancement) support case with Red Hat to ask them to support ExFAT, now that it is legally possible to do so. Still takes a couple of weeks, at best.ĮxFAT is my current preferred cross-platform file system for thumb drives & large USB hard drives, since it works well on both Windows and Macs - and as of August 28, Microsoft released the full specification and granted some level of open-source license on the patent(s) required. ![]() This will not solve the problem quickly though (even if they have many customers making the same request, it wouldn't likely happen until RHEL 8.1 or 8.2).Ģ) Request that the EPEL community add 'udftools' to the EPEL-8 repository. The udftools package was in RHEL 7 (and is still in Fedora 30), so there are two options I can see to get UDF support:ġ) Open a case with Red Hat, requesting that the 'udftools' package be added (back) in RHEL 8. To amplify Jamie's reply - UDF seems to have gone AWOL in RHEL 8. ![]()
